Alex Koch is a Senior Vice President in BSG’s Strategic Advisory and Research Practice, where he advises clients at the intersection of business, politics, and policy. Alex delivers a comprehensive suite of services spanning coalition building, competitive intelligence, research, litigation and regulatory support, and strategic communications, enabling Fortune 50 companies, financial institutions, and trade organizations to advance their objectives in complex and evolving policy environments.
Alex specializes in coalition building, developing and sustaining strategic alliances across industry, advocacy, and government stakeholders to align diverse interests and drive favorable state-level legislative and regulatory outcomes. He complements this with robust competitive intelligence capabilities, providing clients with the market, regulatory, and political insight required to anticipate competitive dynamics, policy developments, and emerging risks. These efforts are underpinned by rigorous, policy-informed research that translates legal and regulatory precedent into actionable strategic guidance, positioning him to help clients anticipate risk, manage crisis response, and develop durable, effective solutions within a continually evolving regulatory landscape.
With over a decade of experience in legal and litigation support, Alex also provides clients with comprehensive regulatory support, positioning organizations to effectively navigate high-stakes legal and administrative proceedings. He further supports client objectives through strategic communications, developing clear and persuasive messaging that resonates with regulators, legislators, and other key stakeholders, enabling clients to proactively shape policy narratives rather than merely respond to them.
He holds a Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and is a graduate of Marquette University.
