Bullpen Strategy Group (BSG) is an insights-focused public affairs advocacy and strategic advisory firm specializing in analysis, communications strategy, and project management to help clients solve problems, grow, and manage risk.

We’re growing and seeking a new member for our communications team at the VP level. 

Qualifications 

The ideal candidate possesses impeccable writing and editing skills, is comfortable working with journalists, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and approaches challenges with vigor and tenacity. Candidates with deep established media relationships, particularly with business or healthcare press, are highly encouraged to apply. 

• Assist the communications team by drafting press releases, messaging documents, and other communications materials. 
• Build comprehensive media plans, conduct press outreach, and update and maintain press lists. 
• Lead the process of distilling obscure or technical information and transforming it into potent advocacy material. 
• Support communications team members with client projects and tasks as they develop. 

Requirements 

• An undergraduate degree or comparable work experience in communications is required. Majors in English, political science, journalism, and economics are especially encouraged to apply. 
• Journalism, nonprofit and agency experience are highly preferred. 
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required. 
• At least 7 years of relevant experience. 
• This position requires strong writing skills, a professional demeanor, good knowledge of the national political and media environment, with high-level motivation and interest in aggressively engaging with media. 
• On-the-record experience is desired, but not required. 
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate ideas persuasively.
